Virgil Lee Foster, 85, of Normangee, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Bryan, Texas. He was born on March 6, 1941, to Jules Verne Foster and Myrtle May (Cordell) Foster in Logan, Oklahoma.
Virgil proudly served in the US Army, where he earned his GED while in the military. He became a skilled carpenter by trade and was known for his ability to build just about anything. He had a deep love for hunting and spending time outdoors, treasured his family and especially his grandchildren, and always had a faithful dog by his side. A lifelong Astros fan, Virgil also was a believer of the Methodist faith.
Virgil was preceded in death by both parents, and his siblings, Danny, A.V., Don, Shirley, and three infants.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Margaret; his daughter, Tracey Young (Kevin); his son, Danny Foster (Keri); grandchildren, Garret (Hillary), Mallorie, Grant, Mackenzie, and Case.
A graveside service for Virgil, officiated by Kerry Stroud, will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 10 A.M. in the Ten-Mile Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Virgil Foster’s name to the Madisonville FFA Chapter, PO Box 879, Madisonville, Texas 77864.
Arrangements for Virgil Lee Foster are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
