Vicki Kolb

Vicki Pelafigue Kolb, 71, made her glorious entrance into the world on September 15, 1954, in Lake Charles, Louisiana and made an even more glorious entrance into eternity on January 30, 2026. Vicki was the beautiful daughter of John (Jimmie) and Mildred (Marcantel) Pelafigue. She was her parents’ pride and joy as their only child.

Vicki graduated from Saint Louis High School and continued her education at McNeese State University, where you could find her cruising through town in her blue & white GTO.

Her father raised her like a princess but also taught her the meaning of hard work and its rewards. So it was no surprise when she decided to take over her father’s business, Gold Coast Carpets. She not only ran a business, but she was also an incredible mother to her four children. She never missed a beat from Sunday school to Mardi Gras Balls, pageants, gymnastics and t-ball; she truly was Wonder Woman.

In 1993 Vicki moved to West Monroe, LA where she was a successful small business owner of Tropical Tans and Travel for 27 years. She adored her loyal customers and employees who became more like family. She loved visiting with her customers and planning their upcoming vacations.

Vicki also met her beloved husband, Charlie Kolb, who adored her in West Monroe. They loved traveling together, especially vacationing to Sandals resorts and cruising.

She loved being in the kitchen, she was an excellent cook who embraced her French-Cajun heritage with her dishes that would have you saying “C'est Bon”!!

She was a member of First West Church where she attended faithfully and served with the love of Christ. She was part of the Faithful Encouragers Life Group and looked forward to being together. Vicki will be fondly remembered for her big warm smile, her heart of gold and unwavering Faith.

Vicki is preceded in death by both of her parents and her precious son, James Matthew Pratt.

Those left to cherish Vicki’s memory are her husband, Charlie Kolb; daughters, Cassie Kavanaugh (Pamela), Hollie Pratt and Jamie Denny (Drew); her bonus children, Sandy Bates, Craig Kolb (Christy) and Angelyn Armstrong (Tommy); her grandchildren that knew her as Nana, Kyle, Kaleigh, Korra, Mattox, Miles, Ty, Tanner, Kellyn, Kolby, Taylor, Kody, Grant, Lucca and Sela; her pets, Gracie and Rocket; her cousin that was more like a sister Donna Dodds and numerous other cherished family and friends.

The family will schedule a memorial service in Vicki’s honor, to be held next month in West Monroe, LA.

Final arrangements for Vicki Kolb are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
