Velma Bailey Maynard, 87, of Madisonville, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve. Velma was born November 9, 1932 in Madisonville to Charles Earl and Lillie Bell Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis W. Maynard, Sr., her brother, Boyd Bailey, and her sister, Katie Finch. She is survived by her children, Sandra Jones, Susan Stewart (husband Michael) and Otis W. Maynard, Jr. (wife Georgia); her grandchildren, James McCauley, Jefferey Maynard and Alex Stewart (wife Katie); and her great-grandchildren, Ty McCauley, J. C. McCauley, Peyton Stewart and Jack Stewart (due in January, 2020).

Velma was known for her genuine love for people, her quick wit and sense of humor, and faithful life of service. She leaves behind a legacy of honor, integrity, her deep faith, and a true love for her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Monday, December 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Mark Trichel will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Madisonville Cemetery. The Maynard family will receive friends Sunday, December 29th from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
