Tristan Hunter Ross

Tristan Hunter Ross passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 23, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply. Born and raised in Normangee, Texas, Tristan was the beloved son of William and Amanda Ross and a devoted older brother to Richard and Olivia. He was cherished by his grandparents, Roy and Barbara Ross and Penny and Ricky Roddey, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who considered him family.

Tristan was known for his strong work ethic and exceptional mechanical and welding ability. He took great pride in his career with GATX, where his dedication and skill earned him a promotion to Senior Inspector earlier this year.

Outside of work, Tristan found happiness in hunting, fishing, music, playing cards and dominoes, caring for animals, and spending time with the people he loved. His generous spirit, ready smile, and willingness to help anyone in need left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Though his life was far too short, Tristan’s kindness, integrity, and quiet example continue to inspire those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Those left to cherish Tristan’s memory are his parents, William Ross (Amanda); grandparents, Roy Ross (Barbara) and Ricky Roddey (Penny); brother, Richard Ross (Bryanna); sister, Olivia Ross as well as numerous other extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service to remember Tristan, under the direction of President Mike Reynolds, will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. followed by burial in the Jozye Cemetery. Visitation will take place the evening before on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5 P.M. till 7 P.M. in the chapel of the Madisonville Funeral Home.
