Susan Elaine Tarpley, a beloved daughter, niece, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023, at her residence in Texarkana, Texas. She was fifty-nine years old. Born on February 6, 1964, in Houston, Texas, to Bob Thomas & Elaine Clara (Dement) Tarpley, Susan brought joy and warmth into the lives of all who knew her.

Susan was a determined individual who pursued her dreams with unwavering dedication. With her sharp intellect and passion for justice, she set her sights on becoming a lawyer. Susan's relentless pursuit of knowledge led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, laying a solid foundation for her future aspirations.

Susan's profound loss will be mourned by her mother, Elaine Tarpley of Willis; her beloved aunts, Barbara Dockens of Willis and Virginia (George) Hernandez of Paige, as well as cousins, Tammy Lynn, Kimberley, Shannon, Sherrin, Sheilla, Shelbey, Shauntel, Angie and Aleshia. Her warm smile and compassionate nature will be dearly missed by all who lovingly called her niece, cousin and friend.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Bob Tarpley and uncle, William Ray Dement.

A funeral service in celebration of Susan's life will be held on September 12, 2023, at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. The service will be a time for family and friends to join together, offering support and finding solace in their shared memories. Following the service, Susan will be laid to rest in Allphin Cemetery, where she will find eternal peace.
