Stanton Larue Rogers, age 66, beloved husband, father, friend, and Poppi, passed away at his home in Normangee, Texas on May 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 4, 1957 to John Lewis Rogers and Jo Anabel (Ford) Rogers in Houston, Texas. He was raised in Cypress, Texas. After graduating high school, he moved to Normangee. He married the love of his life, Phyllis, on June 27, 1982. He had two boys, Justin and Kevin, who were his favorite people in life... until he had grandbabies.
Stanton was a true cowboy by heart and a jack of all trades. He worked hard, played hard, loved hard, and taught others to do the same. He was a great storyteller and always knew a good joke.
He had a special place in his heart for helping kids. That led to his involvement with the Normangee Junior Livestock show. He was a longtime president and continued to support the show by coordinating a buyers group until his death. Over the years, he helped raise thousands of dollars for the youth of the community.
Stanton was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Rogers of Normangee, Texas; sons, Justin Rogers of Normangee, Texas and Kevin Rogers (Keeli) of North Zulch, Texas; his grandchildren, Cora, KJ, and Molly Rogers; sister, Stephanie Schneider (Mike); brother, Steven Rogers (Karen); and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
