Sara Annette (Mathis) Irvin was born on February 5, 1931 to Ginnie Viola (McNultry) & Henry Lee Mathis.

Sara was one of seven children. She had dreams of traveling and seeing the world, so when she graduated from school, she set out to fulfill her dreams. At an early age, she gave birth to her one and only child, a baby girl, she names Lady Evelyn; she also took in two of her nieces to raise as her own, Gennie and Johnnie. She was a hard worker and would help anyone who needed it.

Sara met and fell in love with Harvey Irvin and were married for many years until their divorce. During those years of marriage, her sister, gracie died, so Sara and Harvey raised two of Sara's nephews as if they were their own sons. They decided to move from Houston to Madisonville to be closer to her daughter, where Sara worked as a presser at the cleaners that is now Mustang Cleaners, as a CNA at Madisonville Nursing Home, as well as, an upholsterer repairing furniture for customers such as Reed's Furniture Store. She did this all while taking care of a farm consisting of chickens, pigs, ducks, and the like. She was a mother, a devoted wife, a loving grandmother, and a good friend. She was a person who loved life and lived to enjoy it.

She's preceded in death by her parents, Ginnie and Alfred Minor and Henry Mathis; four brothers, Johnny Lee, Cash, L.T. Scott and Willie Nichols; two sisters, Mattie B. Smith and Grace Scott; son, Charles Davis; grandson, Jack Brown, II; and son-in-law, Jack Brown, I.
