Ross Gordon Schmitt, 72, of Madisonville, Texas passed away on February 19, 2023 in Madisonville, Texas. He was born to Gordon Schmitt and Marion Elsie (Joceyn) in Kitchener Ontario, Canada. Ross was a truck driver who loved having the opportunity to travel across and view all of the beautiful and vast landscapes the United States has to offer. He was also a big fan of the NFL 49'ers.

Ross was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife, Marrietyl Schmitt of Bedias, Texas; sons, Ross Schmitt of Madisonville, Texas and Daniel Schmitt of Endicott, New York; step-sons, Alan Estomata of Bedias, Texas, Acean Estomata of Bedias, Texas and Dave Strong of Tennessee; step-daughter, Aria Estomata of Bedias, Texas; and grandson, Austin Schmitt of Madisonville, Texas.

A memorial service will take place at 2 P.M., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home. Drew Stackhouse will officiate the service.
