Rose Mary Holt

Rose Mary (Moreno) Holt, 78, was born on November 9, 1947, in Monterey, Mexico and passed away in Houston, Texas on April 7, 2026. She was the beautiful daughter of Arturo and Maria Antonieta (Ortiz) Moreno.

Rose had three passions along the course of her life. She loved planting and caring for her roses when she was able and she was a huge Astros fan. If there was a game on, you could rest assured she was watching it. That said, her greatest passion was for her family and especially her siblings. She was a big sister in a large family and helped raise her brother and sisters.

Rose was preceded in death by both her parents; husband Arthur Elvis Holt Jr.; two sisters, Rosa Maria and Maria de los Angeles; niece, Bethany L. Wieske Gonzales Baker, nephew Juan Manuel Cervantez and brother-in-law, Michael Neal.

Those left to cherish Rose’s memory are one brother and ten sisters as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service honoring the life of Rose Mary Holt, officiated by Bishop Brock Griffiths, will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 11 A.M. Visitation will take place at the church one hour before the service starting at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in the Jozye Cemetery.
