Roger William Caldwell

Roger William Caldwell, 34, of Midway, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2026. He made his entry to the world on November 16, 1991, in Madisonville, Texas, to the delight of his parents Roger Wayne Caldwell and Christina Russell. Roger went on to become an endearing lifelong resident of Madison County and will be especially remembered in the Midway community. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as, “Bubba.”

Whatever Bubba lacked was compensated for in the size of his heart. He had a big one and sought opportunities to help others whenever possible. He had an outgoing personality and never crossed paths with a stranger. Bubba would converse with anyone at the drop of a hat, but he had a keen interest in the ladies. In fact, Bubba will be fondly remembered as a bit of lady’s man and a sweet talker to boot.

From early on, Bubba was always active and on the move. He participated for several years in the Special Olympics and was the winner of several medals. Later, his energy was spent in hard work helping those in his community. If Bubba had a dip and a Dr. Pepper, his day was on good trajectory and going fishing was the one thing that could take things up a serious notch.

There are many ways to describe Bubba, but some honorable mentions include his compassionate care for people, his kindness, helpfulness and all around genuine authentic love for his friends and family, remarkably his nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish Bubba’s memory are his father, Roger Wayne Caldwell; mother, Christina Russell; Stepfather, Randy Prather; sisters, Amanda Caldwell (Bria), Christy Ann Caldwell (Skipper) and Leah Caldwell together with numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service honoring Bubba, officiated by pastor Joshua Price, will be held in the chapel at the Madisonville Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11 A.M. Visitation will take place at the funeral home one hour before the service beginning at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in the Midway Cemetery.
