Robert Kent Shaffer

A private family graveside service for Robert Shaffer, age 71, of Kemah and formerly of Madisonville, will be held 12 Noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Madisonville Cemetery in Madisonville. Mr. Shaffer passed away Friday evening at his home in Kemah.

Robert Kent Shaffer was born September 11, 1947 in Madisonville, Texas to G.C. and Juanita (Kent) Shaffer. He grew up in Madisonville and was a graduate of Madisonville High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the owner of May Insurance. He also owned an insurance agency in Houston.

Robert enjoyed hunting, storytelling and fishing. He also loved watching rodeos, especially bull riding.

Robert was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Renea Ledbetter. He is survived by wife, Sandra Shaffer of Kemah; son, Dr. Rodney Shaffer (Kathy) of Tulsa, OK; brother-in-law, Wiltz Ledbetter and grandchildren, Madison & Aiden Shaffer. Robert is also survived by nieces Melanie Ledbetter Remy (Gary) of Sugarland and Melinda Ledbetter McAfee (David) of Austin, as well as, great nephews and nieces, Chase, Alex and Grant Remy and Cameron and Kayla McAfee.
