Novis “Jean” Turpin was born July 15, 1928 in Madison County, Texas to parents, Jim Davis & Ira Idel (Phillips) Stewart. She married Forrest L. Turpin July 17, 1948. Jean worked as an insurance administrator for a community hospital in Freeport, Texas for fifteen years. She had lived in Madison County since 1988 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

Jean passed away July 22, 2020 in Victoria, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Forrest Turpin; brother, James Stewart and sister, Dorothy Kilpatrick. Her surviving family members include son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Rhonda Turpin of Victoria; daughter, Kathy Marshall of Huntsville; granddaughters, Emily (Harry) Lofton of Austin, Abby Turpin of Victoria, Kim Marshall of Huntsville and Sarah Marshall of Huntsville and great-grandchildren, Abe & Gabe.

Funeral services for Jean will be held 2 P.M., Monday, July 27, 2020 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Interment will follow in Madisonville Cemetery.
