Mildred Charline Alexander, age 87, started her journey on October 26, 1937, at the home of her parents, J.T. and Florence Alexander, in Weinert, Texas and made her glorious entrance into eternity on August 29, 2025.
As Mildred grew, she developed a passion for athletics, and during her time in school, she played every sport that was available to her. At a young age she met the man she would love forever, Wilburn Donald (Bill) Harlan. The two married on June 27, 1953, and she became Mildred Charline Harlan. They welcomed three children into their family, and her greatest heart's desires were to love her God through serving His church and to love her family well. One way she accomplished this was to cook and bake for both. She was well-known for her delightful home-made candies (pink cookies), banana pudding, big red ice cream, salsa and especially yeast rolls.
Mildred was preceded in death by both her parents and the love of her life, Bill Harlan, of sixty-seven years. Others who preceded her are her brother, JW Alexander; her great-grandson, Jamie Arlan Park; and great-granddaughter, Alice Brizee.
Her memory lives on in her children, James and Deborah (Harlan) Sherrill, Wade and Denice Harlan and Chuck and Tess (Harlan) Rogers; her grandchildren, John and Tambra Park, Tonya Vanya, Andrew and Jaqueline Cullather, Gus and Sarah Horne and Tony and Corrie Todaro; thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family and loving friends.
Visitation will take place in the chapel of the Madisonville Funeral Home on Thursday evening September 4, 2025, from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11 A.M. in the Weinert Cemetery in Weinert, Texas.
Final arrangements for Mildred Harlan are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
