Mike Jones, 73, of Shiro, Texas passed away peacefully at his home May 4, 2021. He was born January, 11, 1948 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Marcus Bryant & Mildred (Hooker) Jones. Mike was employed as a commercial truck salesman. In his younger years, he enjoyed sailing and later in life enjoyed playing golf and saltwater fishing. Mike had lived in Shiro for the past four years, coming from North Carolina.

Mike was preceded in death by both of his parents and sister, Sharron Daniels. His surviving family includes wife, Merle Jones of Shiro; sons, Matthew (Julia) Jones of Shiro and Michael Leon (Michelle) Jones, Jr.; sister, Judith Dahlke of Austin; grandchildren, Ava, Peyton, Kelsey, Monroe, Jaden and Memphis and great-grandchild, Londynn.

Graveside services honoring Mike’s life will be held 2 P.M., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Old Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Jay Kott officiating. Immediately following the graveside services a visitation and meal will be held at Shiro Baptist Fellowship Hall, 6670 Carroll St., Shiro, Texas.
