Mary Julia Adams, a beloved resident of Madisonville, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on March 24, 1932, in Madisonville, Texas to William Daniel Adams and Annie Lou (Coleman) Adams, Mary lived a life filled with love, dedication, and warmth that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Mary was a passionate cook and took great joy in sharing her culinary delights with family gathered around her table. As a wonderful aunt, she relished the time spent with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, creating countless cherished memories that will endure for generations. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart were a constant source of comfort and support for her loved ones.Having worked as a telephone operator in the telecommunications industry, Mary dedicated many years to her profession at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, before retiring in 1985, to care for her beloved mother. Her commitment to her family and her faith were the cornerstones of her life, as she was a proud member of the Mt. Tabor Church of Christ.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas Adams; and sisters, Helen Adams and Dorothy Starns. She is survived by her nieces, Debra Drake (Bobby), Beverly Newton (Jay), and Patty Walther (Greg); nephew, Kenneth Starns (Lisa); sister-in-law, Joann Adams; great-nieces and great-nephews, Connor Drake (Brooke), Amanda Todd, Nicole Warren (Jason), Joshua Newton (Brandi), Carl Walther (Madison), Callie Walther (Ray), Heath Starns (Ashley), and Monte Jack Starns (Grace); along with numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
A funeral service for Mary will be 10 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Joel Douget will officiate the service.
