Graveside services for Mrs. Rita Akers, age 82, will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Leona Cemetery in Leona, Texas. Garry Dictson will officiate the service. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service Wednesday from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.

Martha Loreta “Rita” Akers was born July 22, 1938 in Wolfe City, Texas to parents, John & Addie (Fox) Leatherwood. She worked as a seamstress most of her life and was Baptist in faith. Rita passed away November 1, 2020 in Madisonville, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; son, Alan Dwayne Wilson; two brothers and one sister.

Surviving family members are husband, Lewis Akers; daughter, Sharon Dictson & husband, Gary; step-daughters, Allison Akers, Amanda Akers and Audrey Akers; brother, Howard Leatherwood; grandchildren, Mark Wilson, John Dictson and Jason Dictson and great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Mila and Kyler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
