Margaret "Dorris" Cannon, 90, was born to Harry Allen Wilkins and Velma M. (Gunn) Wilkins on November 8, 1930, in Tule River, California. Dorris lived her whole life in Madisonville, Texas. For thirty-two years, she was employed at the Sheriff’s Office in Madison County as a dispatcher, jailer and record clerk. Dorris was a member of Assembly of God Church in Madisonville and had a passion for antiquing and collecting beanie babies.

Dorris passed away on October 10, 2021, in College Station, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.M Cannon; son, Keith Cannon and daughter, Sherry Sims. She is survived by her sons, Paul Cannon (Mary Helen Gutierrez), Travis Cannon (Julie); sister, Betty Wedge; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services were under the care of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
