With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Leah Kathleen Strange, who left this world on October 21, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Houston, Texas, on February 21, 1960, to William Hubert Strange and Mary Catherine Strange. Leah lived a life of love, compassion, and selflessness. She is now at peace with her Lord, free from pain and suffering.
Leah attended Bethany Lutheran School and Lutheran High School in Houston, where she made lifelong friendships. A spirited cheerleader, active Student Council member, and Homecoming Queen, she brought joy and energy to those around her.
Caring for others was Leah’s calling. Throughout her healthcare career, she served others with patience, tenderness, and compassion. She treasured her friendships and was deeply grateful for the village of people who surrounded her with love.
Above all, her greatest blessing was her family. She was a devoted mother to Mollie K. Strange and a proud grandmother to Brooke Moffett and Mercedez Armenta. Her girls were her whole heart and she found her greatest happiness in loving, supporting, and creating cherished memories with them.
For twenty-six years, Leah shared a deep and meaningful love with George R. Gannaway. Their bond was more than a partnership; it was an unwavering commitment to standing beside one another through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they created a lasting legacy.
Leah was preceded in death by her father, William H. Strange; grandparents, Arthur and Wesley Mae Hall and J.E. and Myrtle Strange; and her beloved companion, George R. Gannaway.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mollie; granddaughters, Brooke and Mercedez; mother, Cathy Womack; brother, Joel Strange; nephew, Christopher Strange; niece, Heather Strange; other extended family and many dear friends.
A gathering for friends and family will be held at Madisonville Funeral Home on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M.
Leah’s faith, kindness, and unconditional love will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew her.
Leah will be forever loved, always missed, and never forgotten.
Final arrangements for Leah Kathleen Strange are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas -- A Walters Family Funeral Home.
