Jillyn “Jill” Kirby Yeager, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished “Lovie,” loving sister, faithful servant of Christ, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, after a courageous 12-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born on January 28, 1974, to Juanice Gililland Kirby and Ronald D. Kirby, Jill grew up in Bryan, Texas. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1992 and later earned her degree from Texas A&M University in 1999.
Jill dedicated her life to serving others through education. Throughout her career, she taught in Bryan ISD, Porter Elementary, and Madisonville CISD, where she touched countless lives. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom and will continue through the many students she inspired. While teaching was one of her passions, her greatest joy was her family. Jill was a loving wife to Jason Yeager, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Together they built a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion.
Of all the titles Jill held throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being “Mom” and, most recently, “Lovie.” She loved her children with her whole heart. She carried the memory of her beloved daughter, Jennalyn Yeager, who passed away in 2022, close to her heart every day. She deeply cherished her son, Jacob Yeager, and was immensely proud of the man he has become. One of God’s final and most precious gifts to Jill was the opportunity to become “Lovie” to her grandson, Waylon Yeager. Though she was given only a few short months with him, she loved him with a lifetime’s worth of love. She cherished every moment she held him, every smile he shared, and every memory they were able to make together.
Faith was the foundation of Jill’s life. She was a dedicated member of CrossRoads Cowboy Church, where she faithfully served as church secretary and shared her love of worship through singing. She previously served at First Baptist Church of Madisonville as a choir member, nursery worker, and Vacation Bible School volunteer. Whether serving behind the scenes, caring for children, or lifting her voice in praise, Jill’s servant’s heart was evident in everything she did.
Outside of her work and ministry, Jill found joy in watching hummingbirds from her back porch, swimming, and connecting with others. A talented swimmer in her younger years, she set records while competing on her high school swim team. She also enjoyed creating videos and built a TikTok community of more than 34,000 followers, where her warmth and personality shined through. Jill will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and vibrant spirit. She was strong-willed, outgoing, compassionate, and fiercely loyal to those she loved. Even throughout her long battle with cancer, she faced each day with courage, grace, and hope.
Jill was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jennalyn Yeager and mother, Juanice Gililland Kirby.
She is survived by husband, Jason Yeager; son, Jacob Yeager (Rylee); stepson, Tyler Yeager (Jesse); stepson, Mathew Yeager; cherished grandson, Waylon Yeager; step-grandsons, Elijah Yeager and Jeremiah Yeager; father, Ronald D. Kirby (Kris); sister, Leanne Archer (Wes); nephew, Craig Kirby (Sydney); nieces, Logan Rivera and Avery Archer; as well as numerous extended family members, church family, former students, colleagues, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though Jill’s earthly journey has ended, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her daughter, Jennalyn, and her mother, Juanice, in the presence of her Savior.
A funeral service celebrating Jill's life, officiated by pastor Kris Kelso, will be held at the First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11 A.M. Visitation will take place one hour before the service starting at 10 A.M. Burial will be in the Rock Prairie Cemetery in North Zulch, Texas, immediately following the service.
