Ikie Mae Donalson

A Time To Be Born:
On August 15, 1914 in a small community near Midway, Texas, a beautiful baby girl was born to the parentage of Van and Norma McNealey. She attended Midway School in Midway, Texas. She never left this small community called Tanyard.

A Time To Love:
Mother Ikie Donalson met and married the love of her life, Connie Donalson. They were married in 1933 until his death in 1986.

A Time To Plant:
Mother Ikie Donalson was taught to reverence the Lord with all of her heart, mind and soul. She was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit at the age of nineteen under the leadership of Pastor Lon Evans at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. She later in life joined Free Pentecostal C.O.G.I.C. under Pastor James Davis where she stayed until she decided to return to her roots at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor C.D. Evans where she remained until her death on Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019.

A Time To Reap:
Mother Donalson was a devoted wife to a husband whom she called “Baby” until his death in 1986. They were married for sixty years. She was a loving mother of nine children and her first grandchild whom she helped raise. She was also a devoted sister to her siblings, but most of all, she was a soldier for the Lord. She loved young people. Family was her joy. She left a legacy of strength, courage and love with whomever she met.

A Time To Laugh:
Always a happy person, Mother Donalson gained pleasure with family and friends. She loved to bake tea cakes and give to who ever wanted them. But her greatest accomplishment was serving the Lord.

A Time To Die:
Mother Donalson is the last oldest pioneer of her time, born, raised and never leaving the Tanyard Community other than a brief period when her health began to fail. She was a true servant who touched the lives of many.
On Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 12, 2019 as the clock ticked away to 5:10 A.M., Mother Donalson was granted her request and answered to the call of the “Divine Time Keeper.” Mother fought the good fight and kept the faith. Mother’s future is reserved with the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give on that day (2 Timothy 4:7).

A Time To Weep:
Mother Donalson leaves to cherish a well lived life her children, Celestine Neal (George), Joyce Bailey (Morris), Mattie Cooper, Ethel Moore, Eula Blaylock, Will Donalson (Sandra); special grandson, Charles Donalson (Virginia) plus twenty-two grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; forty-seven great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, cousins and friends and two special people adopted into the family by Mother Donalson, Almarie and Ray.
Mother Donalson was preceded in death by her parents, Van and Norma McNealey; sisters, Daries Johnson and Velma Bluitt; sons, Connie V. and Samuel Donalson; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Mother Donalson's life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C. Interment will be in Two Mile Cemetery. A wake and visitation will be held Friday, May 17th from 7 P.M. to 10 P.M. at Wilson Chapel C.O.G.I.C.
