Harvey James Benfer, 86, of Tomball, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2026, in Tomball, Texas. He was born on January 12, 1940, to Willie and Leona (Kleb) Benfer in Klein, Texas.

Harvey dedicated his life to agriculture, nurturing both the land and its creatures with a tender heart. He will be remembered fondly for his unwavering love of animals, particularly his beloved dogs and cats.

Harvey was not only a respected rancher but also an extraordinary grandfather, who brought joy and wisdom to the lives of his grandchildren. His faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his relationships and endeavors. His daughters, Heather and Holly, along with his grandchildren, will carry forth his legacy of kindness and generosity.

Harvey was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Jeanette Benfer; and brother, Melvin Benfer. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Terrell (Chris) and Holly Finley (Brad); grandchildren, Logan and Harper; and sister, Janis Sanders (Jerry).

A graveside service for Harvey will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Bedias Methodist Cemetery. Robin Doty will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas -- A Walters Family Funeral Home.
