Gary Mack Parker

December 21, 1953 — March 26, 2026

Madisonville, Texas

Gary Parker, 72, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, was born to proud parents, Qullar Mack and Annie Beatrice (Perry) Parker on December 21, 1953, and passed away peacefully at his home in Madisonville, Texas on March 26, 2026.

He was Gary to many but to his children, he was dad, a role he carried with strength, love, and quiet guidance. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was “Yaya”, a name that came to represent both his strength and his softness.

Gary was a man defined by strength, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to his family. He was known for his quiet nature, his stubborn streak, and his sense of humor. He wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke, people listened, and somehow, it was always exactly what needed to be said.

He took immense pride in his family and in the Parker name. He believed in working hard, earning your place, and never taking anything for granted. Above all else, he valued showing up for the people he loved and for the life he built.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joyce Shiflet.

Those left to cherish Gary’s memory are his wife of over thirty-eight years, Linda (Packer) Parker; his four children: Shannon, Crystal (Ethan), Gary Jr. (Jenna), and Brandi (Dave); his sister, Louise Snow; grandchildren, Ashley (Logan), Mikayla (Dallas), Tyler (Sydney), Hannah (Cody), Trenton, Parker, Madyson, Korbyn, Arianna, Mackenzie, Caydon, Olivia, Kaci, Ryder, Hannah, and Morgan; eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other extended family and many close friends.

He leaves behind not only memories, but a legacy, one of strength, loyalty, and love. He leaves big boots to fill and a torch that will be carried on by those who loved him most.

A funeral service to honor Gary’s life, officiated by Jimmy Clopton will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the chapel of the Madisonville Funeral Home followed by burial in the Bedias Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour before the service.

Pallbearers: Gary Parker, Tyler Parker, Mackenzie Parker, Ryder Lee Day, Dave Allen, Logan Plunkett and Trenton Hazen.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and prayers during this time.
