It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn Joyce Willis, 87, who peacefully departed this life on March 8, 2025, while in the loving care of Comfort Nursing Home in Comfort, Texas. Evelyn was born on May 23, 1937, to proud parents, De Has and Thelma Thompson in Madisonville, Texas and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

Evelyn will be fondly remembered as the “Queen of Bingo,” and enjoyed all sorts of crafting activities.

She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Lloyd Willis, as well as her brother, Billy De Thompson.

Although Evelyn did not have any children, she is survived by other extended family members and loving friends.

A graveside service for Evelyn will be held in the Jozye Cemetery on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 1 P.M.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Evelyn’s name be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Final arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
