Erma Louise Spradling was born October 21, 1922, in Girard, Texas. Her parents were Tom & Lucille (Sherer) Wilson. She had lived in Madisonville since 1964, coming from Waco. Erma enjoyed sewing and gardening and was a homemaker her whole life. Her innate sense of caregiving extended to all of her family members. In a loved one’s time of need, she would stop everything she was doing in order to be available to care for that person—whatever their need may be.

Erma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville and enjoyed reading her bible often. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Madisonville.

Erma passed away March 9, 2018 in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Donald Spradling; sisters, Bertie Boland & Emma France and brother, Billy Lew Wilson. Surviving family members include daughter, Linda Marie Stone (Jackie) of Houston; granddaughter, Dana Lyn Roberson-Dean (Donald) of Field Store; nieces & nephews, Geraldene, Shawna, Jay, Delores, Gayla, Gary, Brenda, Mike, Billy, Elvis, Lou Ann, Terry Ben, Jim, Sandon, Ronnie, Duane & Arvis, as well as, many other extended family members.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Girard Cemetery in Girard, Texas. Bro. Patrick Hamilton will officiate the service. A brief visitation will take place before the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. under the pavilion at the cemetery.
