Edwin Willie Singletary

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Edwin Willie Singletary, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished member of the North Zulch community. Edwin peacefully departed this world on September 13, 2023, in his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was 89 years old.

Born on November 3, 1933, in Madisonville, Texas, Edwin was the son of Willie and Mary Singletary. Growing up with a strong work ethic instilled by his parents, Edwin embraced life with a compassionate spirit and always had a smile on his face. His warm and caring nature touched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Edwin was a dedicated family man. He shared over six decades of love and devotion with his adoring spouse, Betty (Mize) Singletary, creating a partnership that was a beacon of love and strength. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Edwin was preceded in death by his father, Willie Singletary, and his mother, Mary Singletary, as well as his sister, Nell Dean. Although his physical presence may be gone, Edwin's spirit will be forever etched in the hearts of his loved ones.

Edwin will be lovingly remembered by his surviving relatives, beloved wife, Betty Singletary of North Zulch, Texas; sons, Larry Singletary (Terry) of Saint Hedwig, Texas and Robert Singletary (Deborah) of Lake Tawakoni, Texas; daughter, Lisa Henthorne (John) of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Andy Singletary, Laura Singletary, Jackie Adams (Matt), Nevin Singletary, Mandy Singletary, Michael Singletary, Scott Henthorne (Jenna), Colin Henthorne (Landry); and great-grandchildren, Abagail Adams, Augustus Adams, Annabelle Adams, Nevin Singletary, Makenzie Adams and Corinne Henthorne.

To honor and celebrate Edwin's remarkable life, funeral services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Pastor of the church, Bro. Beau Beavers, will officiate the service. Interment will follow in High Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Madisonville Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., providing family, friends, and community members the opportunity to pay their respects and share their cherished memories of Edwin.

Edwin will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will continue to inspire us all. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
