It is with joyful hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Eddie Dee Jones Sr., affectionately known as "PawPaw," and "Big Eddie," who left this world peacefully on March 24, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on August 7, 1956, Eddie was a beloved resident of Normangee, Texas, where he touched the lives of many with his kindness, unwavering work ethic, and profound love for his family.

Eddie was a man of many passions, preparing delicious meals that brought loved ones together. His treasured "Mercedes" van was a symbol of his adventurous spirit. Above all, he adored his grandchildren, showering them with affection and wisdom that will echo in their hearts forever.

Eddie was preceded in death by both of his parents, Sam and Lois (Reed) Jones and brothers, Billy Wayne Jones, Cleo Jones, and Joe Craig. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jones; sons, Cedrick Brice (Bridgett) and Eddie Dee Jones Jr. (Kachera Williams); daughter, Christina Murphy; goddaughter, Alisha Harrell; grandchildren, Monta, Cebria, Ced Jr., Elijah, Jazzmyn, Izaha, Isaac, TaDarian, Jemory and Journee; great-grandchildren, Abree, Chance, Nala, Brooklyn, Lennox, Kairo, and Kha'Mani; sisters, Yolanda Jones, Joyce Davis, Betty Jones and Brenda Waters; brother, Quinn Mays; special brother, Stanley McMurry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Eddie Dee Jones Sr., will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Zion Baptist Church, Normangee, Texas. Pastor of the Church, Bishop J.D. Arrington, will officiate the service. A time of visitation and remembrance will take place from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M, Friday, April 3, 2026, at Madisonville Funeral Home.
