Doris Marie Davidson

December 29, 1934 — April 10, 2026

Madisonville, Texas

Doris Marie (Key) Davidson was born December 29, 1934, to proud parents, King David and Freddy Hazel (Bland) Key. She lived a wonderful life for 91 years, and passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by family.

Doris had a presence about her that was easily detected when you were in proximity. Let there be no doubt, when it came to Doris, she was the “Queen.” She was sparkly and had a keen eye for fashion, so of course, she made it a priority to dress the part. She was blessed with a wonderful outgoing personality reflected in her ability to make friends easily and she had lots of them. She was naturally a take-charge person and had no problem getting things done. This was a gift and was often expressed in her willingness to do whatever she could to help others in need.

Doris loved to travel and go places. Adventure with friends was something she often looked forward to. She loved kids and adored her family. She had a wonderful sixty-eight-year marriage to the love of her life, D.C. They had a precious relationship and only he was allowed to call her “Kitten.”

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, D.C. Davidson; brother, Joe Key; sister, Kathryn Barclay, and son-in-law, Norman Jordan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Michael Davidson and Terry Davidson (Robin); daughters, Pattye Jordan and Lissa Davidson; sisters-in-law, Ellie Hebert and Paula Jacks; ten grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service officiated by Reverend Cindy Clark will be held in the chapel of the Madisonville Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will take place one hour before the service starting at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
