A funeral mass for Dora Gauna, 65, of Madisonville will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Madisonville, Texas. Fr. Guillermo Gabriel-Maisonet will officiate the service. Interment will be in Madisonville Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, September 24th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. followed by a rosary at 7 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.

Dora Elia Guana was born December 27, 1955 in Hualahuises, N.L. Mexico to Agustin Rodriguez & Ramona Jasso. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and had lived in Arkansas and Houston before making her home in Madisonville in 1994. Dora was a skilled seamstress making many items of clothing for her children, including her daughter’s wedding dress. She loved people and had a humorous personality. Dora deeply loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She passed away September 13, 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas.

Dora was preceded in death by both of her parents; and husband, Jose Luis Gauna. Surviving family includes son, Roberto Gauna (Monica Arias) of Madisonville; daughters, Marisol Salizar (Jorge) of Bryan and Roxana Chavez (Jose) of Madisonville; brothers, Agustin Rodriguez of Florida, Jose Ramon Rodriguez of Georgia and Francisco Rodriguez of Arkansas; sisters, Maria Del Robles Aguirre of Arkansas and Catalina Hernandez of Bryan and grandchildren, Jasmin Salazar, Jacob Barnes, Isabella Barnes and Jose Chavez, III.
