Dillon Wayne Crocker

Dillon Wayne Crocker, age 29, of Madisonville, Texas passed away August 18, 2023 at his home.  A celebration of his life will be held 4 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.  Dillon will be laid to rest in McVey Family Cemetery.

Dillon Wayne Crocker was born on February 20, 1994, to Sheila (McVey) Morgan of Madisonville and Wayne Crocker of North Zulch. Dillon gained his wings on August 18, 2023, gone to soon at 29 years old. Dillon graduated from North Zulch High School in 2012, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to graduate Tulsa Welding School in 2014. Dillon worked as a welder in the oilfield for Woodbine Services. Dillon tried his hand in the HVAC industry, employed by Ace Electric & Air Conditioning. Dillon returned to the oilfield employed by Barker Oil and Gas. Dillon’s love for woodworking and his ability to be a “Jack of all Trades” led him to employment on Brad Ried's Ranch. Every employer had love, respect and found a lifelong friendship within Dillon.

Dillon was preceded in death by grandfather, Odis Crocker and grandmother, Barbara McVey. He is survived by his grandfather, Ray McVey; grandmother, Mary Crocker; parents, Wayne Crocker and Sheila (McVey) and Mike Morgan; siblings, Cody Crocker (Jeanne), Kerri Crocker, Delilah Crocker and Chelsea Long (Jason); and aunt and uncles, Mike and Patsy Crocker and Dave McVey. Dillon had a very special place in his heart for his very special friend, Melissa Padgett and for all his cousins, nieces, nephews, and all family. Dillon loved his friends immensely and each knew that without a doubt.

At first meeting, you might think Dillon was a little shy, and didn't have much to say. He was a private person and somewhat of a loner, a man of few words some would say. But for those who were lucky enough to have been in his inner circle of family and friends, we knew a very different Dillon than most. You discovered a no truer or loyal friend. Some would ask arrogant, confident, or confrontational? He did love a good argument. Dillon possessed a brilliant mind, no doubt. Did he know that? Of course. He was not stupid. He had the biggest heart but was not particularly affectionate. His actions spoke louder than words. If you needed Dillon, he would drop everything to lend a hand. We are all now left with the thoughts in our heads; now who will we call who knows as much as Dillon? He was our “go to” guy for everything. Was he a spoiled brat? Most definitely. You see, his parents, Sheila and Wayne loved him immensely and intensely. He was their golden child. They just ruined the child and made no apologies for it. Dillon loved his momma and dad the same. Most of all he loved his dog, Poncho. He loved loading him up on his golf cart and riding the roads of Greenbriar to hang out with his buddies. “Those were the best days,” he’d say. He loved a good party, a crawfish boil, and the brotherhood he found there. Dillon loved hunting and especially fishing. He never turned down a fishing trip. He was a woodworker and made beautiful furniture and could build anything and fix anything. Dillon was one of the good ones. Rest in peace you beautiful soul. Our Pic Pic, Scooter, Dudders, Fred and Dillard. He touched so many lives while on the earth and will be greatly missed and loved always.
