Obituary

Deborah Atzenhoffer, 71, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away September 22, 2022 at her home in Bedias, Texas. Funeral services honoring her life will take place 10 A.M., Monday, September 26, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Jody Westra will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Bedias Baptist Cemetery, Bedias, Texas. A time of visitation will be held Sunday, September 25th from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.


Deborah Sue Atzenhoffer was born October 12, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Gene Austin & Helen Francis (Hart) Williams. Deborah had lived in Bedias for the past forty-one years where she worked for various employers, including Madison-St. Joseph Health, Grimes County Sheriff's Office and Carters Grocery Store. She enjoyed taking road trips, bowling and taking photos of flowers. Deborah was a member of the Pankey Church in Grimes County.


Deborah was preceded in death by both of her parents; step-father, Freddie Leggett; husband, Anthony Allen Atzenhoffer; children, James Atzenhoffer and Sandra Young and grandsons, Aaron Miller and Jeremy Young; sisters, Iva Beher and Cheryl Westra and brothers-in-law, Tip Gilbert and Harold Westra.


Surviving family members include children, Tracy Reeves, Tony Atzenhoffer, Shane Dee Hindman and Patricia Ann Miller; sisters, Cindy Boyd, Ora White, Jeannie Gilbert, Jeanne E. Engle, Harriet Hearon and Thelma Hearon Banks; brother, Austin Hearon;  grandchildren, Glenn T. Miller, III, Brian Miller, Meagan Guerreiro, Caleb Hindman, Crystal Nicole Pursley-Atzenhoffer, Brantley Mason Pursley-Atzenhoffer, Jason Atzenhoffer, Rachel Atzenhoffer Schuman, Amanda Singmaster, Crystal Singmaster and Chad Singmaster, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and extended family.


Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas is entrusted with final arrangements.
