David Alan Gould, 81, was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on January 1, 1945, to proud parents Claude and Ruth (Clark) Gould, and passed away on February 5, 2026, in Madisonville, Texas.
David was a truck driver and enjoyed every moment he had on the road. He traveled countless miles over the course of fifty years before retiring and moving back to Texas. David was a passionate old-school NASCAR fan, and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. It was commonplace to find him in front of a good western accompanied by his dog Dillon.
David will certainly be remembered as a bit cantankerous, but this was well balanced with a loving demeanor. David never lost an argument and enjoyed the opportunity for a good back-in-forth. His nosiness kept him in contact with his family that he truly loved. David was a person that could be counted on and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
David was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Jackie Burns; brothers, John and Claude Gould; and mother-in-law, Ola Mae Jackson.
Those left to cherish David’s memory are his loving wife of fifty years, Brenda (Smith) Gould; children, Shawn Gould (Linda), Wendy Gould, Evan Jones and Kellie Anderson (Steven); brother-in-law, Gary Smith (Rosa); grandchildren, Erica, Cory (Adel), Alyssa, Reed, Tristen, Chad (Christina), Hunter (Samantha), and Logan (Abigail); ten great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Final arrangements for David Alan Gould are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
