Charlene F. Corbell, a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and precious friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Midway, Texas on September 9, 2025. She was born to proud parents, Bruce and Mildred Foster, in Baytown, Texas on February 12, 1934, and grew up in Baytown alongside her sister Linda. Charlene was part of the last graduating class to attend Cedar Bayou High School in 1951. Charlene, 91, lived a full life of service to others and has been escorted to glory.
After graduating from high school, Charlene moved to Houston, Texas where she attended a business college. While she was there, she met a young man named Ronnie Corbell who quickly became the love of her life. They were married on November 9, 1957, and were blessed with two children, Bruce Corbell and Linda Rupp, and stepdaughter, Pam Mt. Joy.
Charlene enjoyed staying home with her children for a few years before she decided to go work for Exxon in 1979. She had a good career there and retired in 1997. Following Charlene’s retirement, the family made their trek to Madisonville, Texas to take care of her mother until her homegoing. This prompted the family’s move to Midway, Texas where they resided for the last twenty-five years and faithfully attended Elwood Baptist Church. Charlene enjoyed attending the First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas. She had a booth and sold jewelry and antiques for twenty-five years and made many friends.
Charlene adored her family. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment with them and loved attending all their sporting activities.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Mildred (Crosby) Foster and sister, Linda Foster.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-five years, Ronnie Corbell; son, Bruce Corbell; daughter, Linda Rupp; and stepdaughter, Pam Mt. Joy; five grandchildren, Dallas Corbell, Sara Rupp, Taylor Rupp, Randi Rupp-Hennigan (Jonathan), and Tyler Mt. Joy (Taylor); two great-grandchildren, Daxton and Sadie Hennigan, as well as numerous other extended family and loving friends.
A memorial service for Charlene, officiated by Bro. Glenn Connor, will be held at the Elwood Baptist Church in Midway, Texas on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2 P.M. followed by an inurnment in Allphin Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Rebecca Merchant and Concho Hospice for their countless hours of service and loving care for Charlene.
Final arrangements for Charlene Corbell are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
