Carolyn Ranton, age 77, of Madisonville, Texas passed away January 26, 2022 at her home in Madisonville. She was born June 29, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Jim & Carolyn Gladys (Batson) Carter.

Carolyn had worked as a clerk for Texas Department of Criminal Justice for many years and had lived most of her life in Madison County where she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville. Carolyn placed the Lord first in her life and serving Him was her aspiration everyday. She loved word searches, watching the Hallmark Channel, traveling, camping and spending quality time with her family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Don Ranton; son, Mark Ranton and brother, Jimmy Carter. She is survived by daughter, Kim (Darrell) Turpin of Madisonville; grandchildren, Sarah (Nathanial) Cortez and Hannah Turpin and great-grandchildren, Aidan, Addison, Jaxson, James, Elle and Remington.

A graveside service honoring Carolyn’s life will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at Madisonville Cemetery, Madisonville, Texas. A public visitation will be held Sunday, January 30th from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.

Honorary Pallbearers: Darrell Turpin, Nathanial Cortez, Aidan Cortez, Matt Toten, Bob Campbell, Patrick Chronister

Arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
