Bobby Jones NeSmith

Mr. Bobby Jones NeSmith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 13, 2024, in Wimberley, Texas. He was born on April 5, 1937, in Bedias, Texas to Radford & Lucy Mae (Johnson) NeSmith.  Bobby married his beloved wife, Ruby Aileen Manning, on August 9, 1958. 

Bobby took great pride in his gardening skills, always maintaining a thriving garden that brought joy to all who saw it. Throughout his life, Bobby remained a sports enthusiast.  He found immense pleasure in following sports, particularly football, baseball, and basketball. His loyalty lay with teams such as the Houston Oilers, Houston Rockets, and Houston Astros, later adding the Houston Texans to his list of favorites. In his younger days, he also enjoyed the thrills of fishing and hunting, showcasing his adventurous spirit.

A diligent worker, Bobby was known for his unparalleled work ethic, often outshining those around him with his dedication and commitment. His vibrant spirit and unwavering determination left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bobby was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Ruby "Aileen" NeSmith; and thirteen siblings.  Surviving family members include son & daughter-in-law, Duane & Mary NeSmith of Frankston; daughter, Lori Gray of Wimberley; siblings, Billy, John, Charles & Kitty; grandchildren, Taylor NeSmith, Joshua Gray (wife, Kaki), Kelsey Gray (significant other, Josh Scott) & Justin Gray (wife, Chelsea); and great-grandchildren, Lynzie NeSmith, Gracelyn NeSmith, Denton Gray and Dawson Gray; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

A graveside service to honor Bobby's life will be held at Willowhole Cemetery, North Zulch, Texas, on April 20, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. A brief time of visitation and fellowship will take place from 11 A.M. to service time.  The ceremony will be a celebration of his life, filled with stories of his achievements and the joys he brought to those around him. In memory of Bobby, his love for gardening, sports, and hard work will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
