Billie Blair

October 31, 1946 — June 16, 2026

Madisonville, Texas

Billie Ray Blair, 79, was born on October 31, 1946, in Brazoria County, Texas to proud parents Archie and Hattie Mae (Freeman) Blair. Billie was a long-time resident of Madison County and made a meaningful impression that will not be soon forgotten by those who knew him and departed for eternity on June 16, 2026.

Billie will be fondly remembered as a man of strength and character who was very capable and never wanted to be a burden to friends or family. His desire was to recognize occasions to help the folks around him and take action to benefit those in need. He was a self-less individual who looked past his own concerns to those of others. That said, Billie never met a stranger, and this resulted in many relationships, all of which he genuinely cherished.

A great way to connect with Billie was on the bank of a fishing hole. This was one of his greatest passions, and he enjoyed every opportunity to get out on the water with his son, Brad, as they spent countless days casting their rods together and landing their next big catch. Billie was a father who was present and a very loving husband to his wife Margaret. In his early years, he was a great dancer and together, he and Margaret enjoyed doing the waltz and the two-step. He could also do the polka but admitted that it wore him out.

Billie was a kind man who set a great example for people to follow, whose life was characterized by sacrifice and service.

Billie was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish Billie’s memory are his wife of thirty years, Margaret (Urban) Blair; three sons, Brad Blair (Kristi), Louis Kocurek and John Kocurek; daughter, Carla Moreno; brother, Boyd Blair (Linda); sister, Artie “Dimp” McDougald (Kenneth); and grandchildren, Austin Blair (Kayla) and Judy Terrazas, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

A funeral service remembering Billie will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Madisonville, Texas on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 A.M. Visitation will take place one hour before the service beginning at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in the Bedias Methodist Cemetery.
