Alice Laverne (Gray) Lewis, 93, of Normangee, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Alice was born on June 13, 1932, to Dawl and Winnie (Pate) Gray. Alice was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She had a passion for cooking and was known far and wide as one of the best cooks around. Her meals were not just food; they were a special way she shared her love with everyone. Alice also owned and operated the LaVilla Maria Beauty Shop in Bryan for many years. Alice loved attending church, where she found solace and community.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luel Lewis; and four siblings, Louis Gray, Floyd Gray, Maurine Sharp, and Jeff Gray. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Carter (Billy), Kay Wright (Ron), Connie Drews (Billy), and Donna Barry; grandchildren, Christie Carter, Cade Wright, Casey Drews Steele (Todd), and Clayton Barry; great-grandson, Laken Steele; brothers, Glenn Gray and Durell Gray (Mary); and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
It is the family's desire to fulfill their mother's wishes. Therefore, no visitation or funeral service will be scheduled. Please understand, this was her request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice's honor to Plainview Cemetery Association at 501 Eskridge Lane, Normangee, Texas 77871.
