Ada Fay Musgrove was born October 12, 1922 in Hempstead, Texas and passed away June 9, 2019 in Bryan, Texas. Her parents were Valentine & Mattie (Pugh) Means. She worked as a salesperson in the retail business for many years and had lived in Houston prior to moving to Madison County in 1982.

Ada was a faithful and long-time member of Sand Prairie Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and was known as the church “Prayer Warrior.”

Ada enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and shelling pecans. Her family will always remember Ada’s love of shelling pecans because they know that she probably shelled more pecans than anyone they ever knew. She enjoyed doing this for anyone and did not accept payment for her services because she loved to shell pecans.

Ada will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by husband, Clyde Odell Musgrove and seven brothers. Surviving family members include sons, Cecil Clyde Musgrove (Winnie) of Hockley, Elton Lynn Musgrove (Dodie) of Millican and Milton Roy Musgrove (Carmen) of Manchaca, as well as eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and eight great, great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ada will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Sand Prairie Baptist Church. Rev. Larry Andrews will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Ten-Mile Cemetery in rural Madison County. The Musgrove family will receive friends Wednesday, June 12th from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
