Virginia Blakley Boyett, age 81, of Madisonville, Texas passed away February 16, 2023 in Bryan, Texas. She was born January 30, 1942 in Lott, Texas to Lammie & Cordia (Downes) Blakley. The oil patch kept Johnny and Virginia moving around until they finally decided to settle their family in Madison County in 1969. Virginia retired from Region VI Service Center where she worked as Student Data Consultant and prior to that position, she worked as a school secretary for Madisonville CISD.

Virginia was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas. She enjoyed volunteering her time and serving her community through the church, schools, and other organizations. Virginia especially loved giving countless hours of her time to work at the Son Shine Center. She also enjoyed cards, dominoes, sewing, reading, and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Johnny Boyett and brothers, Johnny and Carl Blakley.

Surviving family members include children, Dewayne Boyett (Cindy) of Amarillo, Debbie Graham (fiancée, Todd Guelker) of Midway and Darlene Rankin (Dan) of Katy; brother, JR Blakley (Jan) of Madisonville; sisters, Waunice Attaway of Madisonville and Maxine Schiller (Chuck) of Madisonville; grandchildren, Hilary Graham, Daniel Rankin, Blake Graham and Zak Boyett and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Mason, Harley and Dayton White, as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Funeral services honoring Virginia's life will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Madisonville, Texas. Graveside services will take place at 3 P.M. at Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud, Texas. A public visitation will take place Monday, February 20th from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
