Rusty McLain, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Midway, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10 A.M., Friday, September 29, 2017 at the R3S Cemetery. Bishop Malcolm Burton will officiate the service. A visitation will take place on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.

Robert Edmund "Rusty" McLain was born on August 15, 1961 in Huntsville, Texas to Gay Vernon & Wanda (Smith) McLain. He lived most of his life in Madison County and was a 1979 graduate of Madisonville I.S.D. Rusty had once worked for J & B Propane. He then worked for T.D.C.J. and retired after twenty-five years. Rusty liked to fish and hunt, but most of all, he loved to be with his grandchildren. They were the loves of his life. After his retirement he stayed home to take care of them. It brought him great joy to be around them as much as he could.

Rusty was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ethel & Ival Duncan and maternal grandparents, J.B. & Willie Smith. He is survived by his parents, Gay & Wanda McLain; son, Robert McLain (fiance, Sherry); daughters, Shana Moffett (husband, Aaron), Sabrina McLain & Shelby McLain, all of Midway; sisters, Brenda Petersen & Belinda Tobias (husband, Chris) and grandchildren, Chloe, Jakayla, Zoiey & Makinley. Rusty is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
