Reuben "Ashley" Blagrave

Funeral services for Ashley Blagrave, 97, of Iola, will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, July 23, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Jim Jackson will officiate the service and interment will follow in Willowhole Cemetery near North Zulch. A brief visitation will take place before the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the church.

Reuben Ashley Blagrave was born May 11, 1923 in Madisonville, Texas to Reuben Thomas & Winnie (Hall) Blagrave. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. Ashely married his sweetheart, Elizabeth McNair, January 11, 1942. He was employed as an industrial salesman for Able Supply Company and retired after thirty-one years. Ashley was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. He passed away July 20, 2020 in Bryan, Texas.

Ashley was preceded in death by both of his parents; sons, Danny and Dale Blagrave and sisters, Inez Whitaker, Aliene Collins and Lollie Singleton Warren. Surviving family members include wife, Elizabeth Blagrave; son, Dennis Blagrave & wife, Tamela; grandchildren, Danny Blagrave & wife, Stacey, Leah (Blagrave) Beach & husband, Charles and Beth (Blagrave) Middlebrooks & husband, Dallas and great-grandchildren, Will Hicks, Sara Blagrave, Emma Middlebrooks, Delaney Briggs, James Briggs, Vivien Hicks, Ryan Blagrave, James Middlebrooks, Kathleen Hicks and Oliver Middlebrooks, as well as many treasured extended family and friends.
