Maria Almaraz, 78, passed away in College Station, Texas May 16, 2020. A funeral mass will take place 11 A.M., Friday, May 22, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Madisonville. Father Mark Kusmirek will officiate the service. Mrs. Almaraz will then be laid to rest in Madisonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 21, 2020, from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Madisonville Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 6 P.M. held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Maria Almaraz, the daughter of Reimundo Cordova and Saturnina Martinez, was born November 10, 1941, in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico. She had lived in Madisonville for the past three years and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Maria was preceded in death by husband, J. Felix Almaraz. Survivors include sons, Jesus Almaraz (Maria) of Madisonville, Heron Almaraz (Nelly) of Houston and Pedro Almaraz (Erica) of Sioux City, IA; daughters, Victoria Almaraz of Irving, Imelda Herrera of Irving and Lionorilda Salazar of Irving; brother, Miguel Cordova of Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico and sister, Socorro Cordova of Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico. Maria is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Final arrangements are under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
