Mable Louise Buss was born March 14, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Clarence David & Edith (Howell) Cathey. She was a devoted homemaker her entire life. Mable had lived in Hilltop Lakes since 1975 and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Normangee. Mable enjoyed being active in her church and loved serving others by making and carrying meals to members, providing flower arrangements at the church library and performing puppet shows at the church. She also cherished the opportunity to share Jesus with anyone who would listen.

Mable enjoyed anything that allowed her to be outdoors including gardening and hunting and she enjoyed making ceramics. She was an adventurous person and had once enjoyed a vacation to Africa where she wholeheartedly immersed herself in their culture. Most of all, Mable shared her whimsical personality with her friends, children, and grandchildren by hosting tea parties and showing them all of the beauty of nature that she so loved herself.
