Funeral services for Judi Bates, 78, of Midway, Texas will be held 2 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Bro. Dennis Ivey will officiate the service, and interment will follow in Allphin Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.

Judith D. Bates was born May 21, 1943 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Glen & Minnie Partridge. She married Charles Bates March 6, 1978 in Madisonville, Texas. Judi worked and retired as a mailroom supervisor from the TDCJ Ferguson Unit in Midway, Texas in 1998. Her hobbies included crafts, working in her yard and shopping at garage sales. Judi had lived in Midway for the past forty-four years, coming from Pinehurst, Idaho. She passed away March 7, 2022 in Bryan, Texas following a lengthy illness.

Judi was preceded in death by both of her parents; sister, Sandy Gilmore and brother, Vernon Partridge. Surviving family members include husband, Charles Bates; son, Ronnie Lee (Stacy) Sharp; daughter, Jerie (David) Silva; step-sons, Russell (Maribeth) Bates and Heath Bates; brother, Glen Partridge; sisters, Louis Crane, Kathy Holt and Glenda Norstom; brother-in-law, Billy Don (Marion) Bates; grandchildren, Billy (Kyann) Sharp, Jerry (Abigal) Sharp, Kenna Lynn Guardipee, Austin Bates, Dylan Bates and Kylie Bates and great-grandchildren, Ronni Mary Ann Sharp, Devin Ray Smith, Aiken Lyn Smith and Henry James Sharp. Judi is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
