Herndon Eugene Eldridge

Gene was born February 21st, 1974 in Baytown, Texas. He passed from this life on August 28th 2021 after an arduous battle with COVID. Gene is survived by two sons, Sean Eldridge of Clear Lake Texas and Josh Eldridge of Houston Texas; parents, Vernon and Jeanette Eldridge of Midway Texas; siblings, Robbie Hoff and wife, Jennifer of Evergreen, Texas, Heather Fuhrer and husband, Clinton of Bonesteel, South Dakota, and Tiffany Liedtke and husband, Eric of Austin, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gene was a man with great talent and vision. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker, Project Manager, and business owner. Gene’s outstanding work ethic, creative mind, and contagious enthusiasm propelled him to the top of each field. His outstanding creativity can be seen in beautiful cabinets and woodwork that adorn many nice homes in the area. Gene also excelled at Project Management and built many attractions you see at Disney, Universal Studios, The Aquarium, and The Houston Zoo. Gene is a man who left his mark wherever he went, and where he went you will find beauty and wonder.

Gene also loved to travel, he spent time on at least three continents and had an appreciation for architecture and beautiful country. Perhaps his most unusual trip being a trip across south America with little more than a backpack. Starting in Uruguay he spent 30 days traveling to Chile. Those were some great photos.

A few paragraphs cannot adequately convey the complexity, artistry, and charisma that is Gene. His jovial laugh and endless enthusiasm will be sorely missed.

Memorial services for Gene will be held 2 P.M., Friday, September 3, 2021 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
