Helen May (Dean) Allen

Helen (Dean) Allen, born March 28, 1927 in Madisonville, Texas to Ira & Maudi (Wilder) Dean, passed away in her home Sunday morning, March 3, 2019.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lavelle Allen; son, Chris Allen; sisters, Syble Kyle & Frances Bass and brothers, Glenn, Ray & Billy Dean.

She is survived by daughters, Rhena Whitlow and husband, Darrell of Madisonville, TX and Kay Owens of Madisonville, TX; grandsons, Michael Whitlow of Denver, CO, Scott Strong and wife, Sara, of Tatum, TX and Kevin Strong and wife, Tiffany, of Singleton, TX and great grandchildren, Jenna, Kaleb, Kallie, Brooklyn, Hunter, Jax & Braden, as well as, numerous nieces & nephews.

Helen was raised in Madisonville and moved to Houston where she lived most of her life. She returned to Madisonville in 1992 where she loved fishing and spending time with her family. Helen was an active and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Madisonville until her health began to fail.

Funeral services for Helen will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Pastors Terry Dean & Jim Jackson will officiate the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, 102 S. McIver St., Madisonville, Texas 77864.
