Charles Hughes, 87, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 in The Woodlands, Texas. A memorial service has been scheduled for 2 P.M., Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. Patricia Wehn-Glowski, pastor of the church, will officiate the service.

Charles Vick Hughes was born August 4, 1930, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Vick Noble & Annie Nellie (Still) Hughes. He grew up in Ft. Worth and Austin and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Charles worked as a rancher and loved what he did very much. He was an avid animal lover and always had several dogs at his home. Charles was also a HAM radio operator. He had lived in Jonesboro, Texas for a time, as well as, Madisonville, Texas for the past fifteen years, and had recently moved to The Woodlands where he lived for about a year.

Charles was preceded in death by both of his parents; son, Charles Mickey Hughes and three nephews, Russel, Wayne and Dale Hughes. He is survived by daughters, Vicki Anderson of Buda, Patricia Hamlet of Buda and Christi (Jeff) Lambert of The Woodlands; brothers, Kenneth (Quata) Hughes of Plainview and Jerry (Louise) Hughes of Waco and sister, Carole (Arnold) Dubey of Cartersville, GA. Charles is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
