Bobby Neal Starr was born March 6, 1945 in Crockett, Texas to Lester F. & Kathleen (Bradley) Starr. He worked as a utility contractor and enjoyed his work very much. Neal was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge No. 740 A.F. & A.M. in Madisonville. He had lived in Madisonville since 1977 and was Church of Christ in faith.

Neal was a one-of-a-kind person. He loved his family and worked hard to build a family that lives and cares for each other. He catered to his grandkids' every need. Whether it was fixing coffee-milk, cracking pecans, dishing out way too much candy, or building a fire; Grandpa was always quick to spoil the grandkids rotten. You never had to question what was on his mind because he was going to tell you. He was a "say what you mean and mean what you say" kind of man. He had a lot of wisdom and he enjoyed sharing it. Neal Starr put people first and built family everywhere he went.

Neal passed away suddenly March 1, 2019 in Madisonville, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Surviving family members include wife, Beverly Starr of Madisonville; sons, Wayne Starr, Kenneth Starr (Kristy) & John Starr (Amber), all of Madisonville; daughter, Wendy Gean (Paul) of Slocum; brothers, Bradley Starr (Glenda) of Nacogdoches, Roy Starr (Judy) of Frankston & Sam Starr (Terri) of Elkhart and sisters, Joyce Felton of Grand Prairie, Mary Louise Thompson of Madisonville, Janyce Sparkman (Lynn) of Elkhart, Darlene Starr of Elkhart, Alice Day (Kenny) of Graham, Virginia Fischer (Jimmy) of Center and Emily Lee of Nacogdoches. Bobby is also survived by grandchildren, Cody Gean (Ashley), Ryan Gean (Shala), Bynum Starr, Cooper Starr, Victoria Starr, Layton Starr, Kaleigh Starr, Kenleigh Starr & Lena Starr, as well as, great grandchild, Emerie Gean.
