Arthur Lee Garrett

Homegoing celebrations for Arthur Garrett, age 81, of Madisonville, will be held 12 Noon, Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Rev. James Holliday will officiate the service, and interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery in Grimes County, Texas. A public visitation will take place from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday, March 8th at the funeral home.

Arthur Lee Garrett was born March 31, 1937 in Bedias, Texas to Robbie & Velma (Rigsby) Garrett. He worked and retired as a maintenance worker for the city of Texas City, Texas. In 2015, Arthur moved back to Madisonville. He was a member of Rosehill Baptist Church in Bedias. Arthur passed away March 1, 2019 in Madisonville, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sisters, Robbie Sanders & Lillie Garrett and brothers, Alfred & Raddie Garrett.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Arthur Earl Garrett of The Woodlands and Elliott Garrett of Ft. Worth; daughters, Faith Byrd (Bobby) of Madisonville; Debra Lewis Garrett and Mattie Lynn Garrett, both of Porter, Angelia Garrett of Ft. Worth and Angela Holliday (Rev. James Holliday) of Madisonville; brother, James Lee Garrett, Sr. of Bedias and sisters, Ruby Scott and Betty Hughes, both of Texas City and Brenda Kinney of Huntsville. Arthur is also survived by thirty grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
