Aquilla Betts

A homegoing celebration service for Aquilla Betts, age 53 of Midway, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Interment will follow in the Southside Cemetery outside of Midway, Texas. There will be no public visitation.

Aquilla I. Betts was born June 22, 1964 in Centerville, Texas to Floyd Lee “Jack” and Earnest Dean (Johnson) Betts. She was affectionately known by her family and friends as “Ms. Q.” Ms. Q worked as a certified nursing assistant for both Riverwood Nursing Home and Madisonville Care Center. She loved her job and the people she helped. Ms Q. was a natural caretaker, always making sure that each of her patients knew that they were special. She had been a lifelong resident of Madison County and was a faithful member of the Southside Church of Christ in Midway. Ms. Q passed away February 23, 2018 at her home following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Laquitte Betts of Houston & Ajiana Shepherd of Bryan; brother, Ezell Williams of Midway; sisters, Glenda Kinney (Bobby Joe) of Midway and Alice Shields (Darryl) of Katy; nieces, Skylar Henderson, Anesia Kinney, Kitra Kinney, Jermica Foster & Jalunta Betts; nephews, Kayveon Ryles, Jeffery Foster & Keith Robinson; sixteen great nieces & nephews and three great, great nieces & nephew.

Arrangements are entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.
