Homegoing services for Mr. Samuel Davis, Jr., age 79, of Madisonville will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Two Mile Methodist Church in Leona, Texas. Interment will follow in the Two Mile Cemetery located behind the church. A visitation will take place from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Friday, May 11th at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas.

Samuel Davis, Jr. was born November 24, 1938 in Leon County, Texas to Samuel, Sr. & Mobile (Bradley) Davis. He grew up in Leon County and drove school buses for both Centerville I.S.D. and Madisonville C.I.S.D. Mr. Davis had also worked at the Town Café in Centerville and the Corral Café in Madisonville. In his spare time, Mr. Davis enjoyed watching sports and playing dominoes. He had lived in Madisonville for the past thirty years and was a member of the Two Mile Methodist Church in Leona. Mr. Davis passed away suddenly April 30, 2018 in Madisonville and was preceded in death by both of his parents. He will best be remembered for his quiet personality and hard working attitude.

Surviving family members include wife, Alma Goffney Davis of Madisonville; son, Christopher Jackson of Houston; step-son, Jimmy Evans (Angelique) of Houston; daughters, Michelle Jackson of Houston, Linda Hopkins of Centerville and Tanya Jackson of Houston; step-daughters, Vanessa Harper, Felicia Jones & Shenell Lewis and brothers, Wesley Davis of the Tanyard Community and Roland Davis of Centerville. Mr. Davis is also survived by brothers-in-law, Doug Harrison, Robert Goffney & Mike Goffney; sisters-in-law, Helen Wooten & Debra Peterson; best friend, Richard Byrd, Jr. and by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
